On the order and size of s-geodetic digraphs with given connectivity

چکیده
A digraph G = (V, E) with diameter D is said to be s-geodetic, for 1 ≤ s ≤ D, if between any pair of (not necessarily different) vertices x, y ∈ V there is at most one x → y path of length ≤ s. Thus, any loopless digraph is at least 1-geodetic. A similar definition applies for a graph G, but in this case the concept is closely related to its girth g, for then G is s-geodetic with s = b(g − 1)/2c. The case s = D corresponds to the so-called (strongly) geodetic (di)graphs. Some recent results have shown that if the order n of a (di)graph is big enough, then its vertex connectivity attains its maximum value. In other words, the (di)graph is maximally connected. Moreover, a similar result involving the size m (number of edges) and edge-connectivity applies. In this work we mainly show that the same conclusions can be reached if the order or size of a s-geodetic (di)graph is small enough. As a corollary, we find some Chartrand-type conditions to assure maximum connectivities. For example, when s ≥ 2, a s-geodetic digraph is maximally connected if δ ≥ ⌈ s n2 − 1 ⌉ . Under similar hypotheses it is also shown that stronger measures of connectivity, such as the so-called super-connectivity, attain also their maximum possible values.

Sufficient conditions on the zeroth-order general Randic index for maximally edge-connected digraphs
Let D be a digraph with vertex set V(D) .For vertex v V(D), the degree of v, denoted by d(v), is defined as the minimum value if its out-degree and its in-degree . متن کاملOn the λ′-optimality of s-geodetic digraphs
For a strongly connected digraphD the restricted arc-connectivity λ′(D) is defined as the minimum cardinality of an arc-cut over all arc-cuts S satisfying that D − S has a non trivial strong component D1 such that D − V (D1) contains an arc. Let S be a subset of vertices of D. We denote by ω+(S) the set of arcs uv with u ∈ S and v ∈ S, and by ω−(S) the set of arcs uv with u ∈ S and v ∈ S. A dig...
متن کاملDistinct edge geodetic decomposition in graphs
Let G=(V,E) be a simple connected graph of order p and size q. A decomposition of a graph G is a collection π of edge-disjoint subgraphs G_1,G_2,…,G_n of G such that every edge of G belongs to exactly one G_i,(1≤i ≤n). The decomposition 〖π={G〗_1,G_2,…,G_n} of a connected graph G is said to be a distinct edge geodetic decomposition if g_1 (G_i )≠g_1 (G_j ),(1≤i≠j≤n). The maximum cardinality of π...
متن کاملA Survey on Complexity of Integrity Parameter
Many graph theoretical parameters have been used to describe the vulnerability of communication networks, including toughness, binding number, rate of disruption, neighbor-connectivity, integrity, mean integrity, edgeconnectivity vector, l-connectivity and tenacity. In this paper we discuss Integrity and its properties in vulnerability calculation. The integrity of a graph G, I(G), is defined t...
متن کاملOn generalized atom-bond connectivity index of cacti
The generalized atom-bond connectivity index of a graph G is denoted by ABCa(G) and defined as the sum of weights ((d(u)+d(v)-2)/d(u)d(v))aa$ over all edges uv∊G. A cactus is a graph in which any two cycles have at most one common vertex. In this paper, we compute sharp bounds for ABCa index for cacti of order $n$ ...
